Tavola

Library

Share a link, let people in, edit together. No server of your own.

Below are two people, a host and a guest, side by side so you can play both. 1 · Knock as the guest, 2 · Admit them as the host, then 3 · Type in either box and watch it appear in the other. Then make the guest view only and type as the guest: nothing crosses.

      How it works

1The linkThe room, a secret and the host's key ride after the # in the link, the part a browser never sends to a server. The guest trusts only a greeting signed by that key.mintLink(key.fingerprint) · formatLink(url, parts)
2The knockA guest sees only the invite: the deck's title and who is hosting. Nothing of the document crosses until the host admits them.guest.knock(name) · host.admit(id) · host.deny(id)
3The gateAn edit is sent only to admitted members, and applied only from a member who may edit. A view-only member's typing never reaches anyone.host.setRole(id, 'view') · host.remove(id)
One tab, not two machinesHere both people share this tab. Between real browsers, the Studio connects them directly instead; the session code is the same.
Four at the tableA session holds four people, host included, each with one of four colors.
Trust who you admitTavola decides who may edit, not what they write. Anyone you let edit can change anything.
